The first week of our final year project started on the 10 October 2011. This week was the first in our process to create a final project in our 4th year. The main focus of this week was to brainstorm for ideas. As I began brainstorming, I tried to focus on what type of final output the project would be with e.g. through a film, website, animation etc.
In my 3 years with this course so far I found a particular interest in creating and developing websites. This then became the output I chose to base the project on. I then needed another idea for the website. I again began brainstorming on an interest of mine because I find that if you are working on something you are interested in, then you enjoy creating it even more which then results in a better result. So, I chose to create a website based on ‘Cinematography and it’s History’. I chose this because I am interested in how films are made and the process involved in them. Cinematography is an integral part of the film production process.
To make the final project more interesting and technically better, I chose to create an interactive website. Here are the details of my final idea:
- an interactive website based on cinematography and it’s history.
- a website that is not like the typical web style and structure.
- a website that will include information in the form of different types of media.
- the media types are as follows:
- video – i will recreate/reenact techniques, scenes and all features of cinematography
- animation – the same as above but through short animations
- images – i will create visual images to accompany videos and animations and also to display information
- the website will be created in Adobe Flash CS5
- the final project will be able to be used for the following
- a source of information
- a useful resource on the web
- a learning tool for people and students interested in cinematography
- currently there are hundreds of online resources about cinematography but they are all text based. This will be the first visual based website on cinematography. Therefore it will be unique and will also be interactive for users.
